New Facebook is heavier than the old one

Facebook released a few weeks ago the beta of new Facebook for the registered members. The Facebook is usually like "an empty page" with not that much of graphical subtleties, and so is the new Facebook today. What is weird to me is that the new Facebook is more heavier to use than the old site. Is this the right way? It's not.

If you are browsing the old and new page with Firefox, you can notice capacity boost between 10-20% percent.
